After 24 incredible years at AAA Energy Systems, Joaquin Romero is heading into a new chapter! Known for his sharp skills, steady leadership, and team-first attitude, Joaquin has been a true cornerstone of our success. As we celebrate his legacy and look back on the moments that made an impact, we’re sending him off with deep appreciation and our best wishes for what’s ahead.

Joaquin has always been easy to work with. That goes a long way in this business.
His knowledge and hard work have been key to our success as a company. He’s a very good leader and has made a solid impact here at AAA Energy Systems.
What makes Joaquin stand out is his skill set and the way he applies it day in and day out. He knows his stuff and shows up ready to work.

One of my favorite things about working with Joaquin has been his work ethic and positive attitude. He’s someone who works tirelessly to find the best solution when there’s a challenge. Customers really like him—he’s got that friendly and reliable energy, and yeah, the ladies think he’s handsome too!
Over the years, Joaquin’s great customer service, knowledge, and eagerness to keep learning have made a huge impact on AAA Energy Systems. He holds himself to a high standard and expects the same from those he trains or oversees. His leadership is rooted in integrity, and that’s had a strong influence on the team.
I’ll really miss hearing his family stories and seeing the way he dives into a dilemma to find an answer. He’s gone above and beyond more times than I can count. Joaquin, I wish you the very best—I know you’ll be successful and make an impact wherever you go.
A Message From Cody Lewis, President
One of my favorite memories with Joaquin? His first day—we almost fought someone on the jobsite. Definitely a wild start, and it showed he wasn’t afraid to jump into the action.
Joaquin has contributed so much over the years, mainly through his dedication and critical thinking. He works hard and always takes pride in what he does.
He leads by example and never lets a problem get too big. He faces challenges head-on and helps others do the same.
What I’ll miss most is his dedication, his honesty, and the way he always puts his best foot forward. He never holds back, and that’s something you really value.
If I had to sum it up: there hasn’t been a time where he didn’t go above and beyond. That’s just the kind of person he is.
Joaquin, I know you’ll succeed at whatever you do next. No doubt about it.
A Message From Alessa Sotelo, Our Office Manager
Obviously some of my best memories of Joaquin are of me teasing him about all the customers that crush on him! It is always funny to see his reaction and comment about how “He can’t help it!” Also, I will miss hearing about his family and all the yummy food he enjoys making (even though he has never brought any to share).
Joaquin is not someone that revels in solo success. He is that person that wants everyone to succeed, which is exactly how he has been able to improve AAA Energy Systems. He takes the time to explain, show and demonstrate not only how to be a better technician but to be a better human being. He takes his vast knowledge and instills it in anyone willing to absorb. He wants us all to understand and thrive.
While anyone would agree that Joaquin’s most prominent traits are hard working, responsible, responsive, honest & intellectual—some of his other traits include being funny, generous & sassy! He keeps us all laughing and having a good time during our work hours. He also always makes sure to ask if any of us need anything from our “corner store” and never asks anyone to pay him back. Lastly, his sassy banter can keep things light and fun! Anyone’s work can become stressful and feel like a lot of pressure; with Joaquin on your team, you know by the end of the day the job is done and you can joke about any of the stressors that may have occurred!
Joaquin’s leadership has really set an example for everyone. Regardless of the position you hold here, you can take a page from Joaquin’s book. Being diligent, responsive and (believe it or not) humble are all big characteristics of Joaquin’s leadership. Joaquin never lets a problem die. He exacerbates every possible solution to ensure it is resolved. He also is a big proponent of ripping the band-aid off! There are times for everyone when something comes up that gets pushed to the back burner because it can be overwhelming and anxiety inducing. Even in these situations, Joaquin takes action. He sees what needs to be done and knows that everyone deserves an answer. He shows that communicating—especially when he doesn’t have the answer right away—is the best way to lead. When Joaquin doesn’t have an exact outcome mapped out is when he shows his most humble self. He preaches that it’s okay to not know everything all the time! It’s arguably the most important trait to have in this industry that is ever-changing. Admitting that there is always something new to learn is how he keeps evolving. He has modeled that staying humble, communicating what you do and do not know, and being proactive to figure things out is how to really thrive in our trade.
I will miss being able to ask him technical questions and having a very in-depth explanation of the answer. He is always very patient with me and never thinks of it as a waste of time to go into detail with the receptionist about how involved this line of work is. I also will miss bugging him about bringing in smoked cream cheese (still hasn’t)—he always boasts about it! Or changing his name on his phone to all the different ways others have misspelled it over the years!
If I could say one thing to Joaquin as he moves on, it would be:
I have a cousin named Jochin. Jk, jk!
We will miss you, so please come by when you can and don’t forget about us!

Some of my favorite memories with Joaquin are the lighthearted moments in the office—especially when Alessa and I would give him a hard time, and he’d dish it right back. That kind of playful banter made the workplace feel energetic and fun. Joaquin’s easygoing nature, steady support, and great sense of humor brought a unique spark to the team.
Although I haven’t been with the company long, it’s immediately clear how much of an impact Joaquin makes. His problem-solving abilities and exceptional communication skills set him apart. Customers love working with him because he’s not only thorough and detail-oriented, but genuinely invested in doing the job right.
Joaquin has a natural gift for clear, thoughtful communication. He ensures everyone—clients and colleagues alike—is on the same page, and he never misses an opportunity to either learn something new or share his knowledge. You can always count on him to deliver, and to do it right the first time.
He leads by example, holding himself to high standards that naturally elevate the team around him. But he never leaves anyone behind—he encourages growth, offers guidance, and brings people along with him.
What I’ll miss most is his steady presence and the camaraderie we shared. Joaquin was always someone I could rely on—whether for help, advice, or just a good laugh. I’m truly grateful to have worked alongside him.
Joaquin, I hope this next chapter brings you joy, stability, and a renewed sense of purpose. Change isn’t always easy, but it’s where growth begins—and with your talent, work ethic, and heart, I have no doubt you’ll thrive!

Some of my favorite memories with Joaquin go back to working on track jobs together, delivering to job sites, and sharing an office. Those everyday moments were always a good time.
Joaquin has brought a lot to AAA Energy Systems—his attitude, consistency, and leadership have all made a difference. He leads by example and keeps everyone upbeat, even during tough jobs.
He’s incredibly dedicated, with a sharp attention to detail. I’ll definitely miss his knowledge and his sense of humor.
One time that sticks out is when he came in on his day off just to make sure some bids got sent out. That’s just who he is.
Joaquin, I wish we had more time to work together. Good luck—you’ll do great.
