Financing: It Doesn’t Have to Be Scary
Everyone deserves the comfort and peace of mind of knowing that your HVAC system will last to its expected lifetime. Then, before you know it, it is there, that time is expired and you are looking at trading your arm and leg for all new HVAC equipment with the possibility of new ducting, right in the middle of a heat wave. Is it fair to you to have to suffer through with a couple of box fans and ice water spray bottles to make it through? Of course not! That is why here at AAA Energy Systems, we offer four different avenues of financing. We understand you need all your limbs and your optimal home comfort. We make it so that conversation about financing doesn’t have to be about ghouls and goblins. Let us walk you through it.
Understanding why HVAC is Costly:
Understanding why our trade in HVAC is so costly will hopefully give you a better idea of why more and more homeowners are financing this type of home project. As the industry has grown, so has the price tag. The ever-evolving world of HVAC strives to make the industry a more energy efficient place.
The more energy efficient we can become, the better for our planet. However, not better for our check book. While the average system 30 years ago may have cost the homeowner around $5,000.00 it has now skyrocketed to an average of $10,000.00 for a conventional gas system.
Looking into getting all electric? Raise the price to an average of $20,000.00. We know, it is horrifying. Thankfully, to offset these ghastly costs, you can relax knowing these systems are meant to last and save you money in the long run. An all electric heat pump system is crafted to cater to the world of solar. You can connect your solar to your HVAC system and essentially make your PG&E bill disappear! There are also numerous rebates from the state and other energy conscious programs that will actually give money back to you. On top of the energy and money you save, you also get a quieter system and don’t have to worry about your HVAC leaking gas into your home
Okay, this all sounds great right? Now, we just need to figure out how we are going to pay for it.
At AAA Energy Systems, we want our customers to be aware and educated about their options. We have partnered with four financing programs that we truly believe have the best offers starting with low to no monthly payments, low interest rates, easy approval process, no down payments & considerate loan terms.
Our longest-standing relationship with a financing company is Wells Fargo Bank:
They partnered with our preferred equipment brand, Bryant, to create a financing option for homeowners wanting any kind of HVAC project. This option consists of a Bryant/Wells Fargo credit card that can be directly charged by our company. You simply apply for the credit card to be approved by Wells Fargo, speak with our financing department to choose one of the three payment plans we offer to our customers and you’re good to go! Once our work is complete, we charge the credit card and you are on your way with an easy payment plan that fits your needs and a new HVAC system that fits your home!
A service program that does all the heavy lifting for you to connect to many federal and state banks to help fund your project.
They are the hub for all your loan needs and we work with them to help offer our customers even more affordable payment plans. To get started, our financing department will email you an online application. Once that is filled out and the approval process has gone through, a customer portal is created where you will be able to have access to all the features of your loan and make your payments. After the job is done, we can activate your loan and now you have a brand-new HVAC system and a tailored hassle-free loan!
This loan process is a great option for homeowners that do not want another monthly payment to keep track of. SCEIP at its basics, is a loan provided to homeowners from Sonoma County for funding energy efficient upgrades, and that doesn’t just mean for HVAC! There is a long list of items that SCEIP will help homeowners fund, anywhere from new energy efficient doors and windows to new attic insulation, and of course a nice, brand new electric heat pump system.
Wondering about what we meant when we said no monthly payments? Let us explain!
After you submit your application and get approved, a process we will go over in just a moment, the loan will then be dispersed through your property taxes.
Depending on the loan amount, you can choose a 10 or 20 year loan and repay it all back with your twice a year property tax payment.
It’s a fixed low interest rate of 7.99%! There is no money down and the possibly the best part of it all is there is no credit check.
If you are a Sonoma County local, and own your own home in Sonoma County, then you have already passed the approval process!
What’s the catch? Of course, there must be a precaution or two if the county is going to be loaning you thousands of dollars.
The first one is the loan cannot exceed more than 10% of the value of your home. So, if your home’s value is deemed to be $300,000.00 then the max amount you can borrow is $30,000.00.
Another stipulation is you must be current on all your property taxes and mortgage payments.
Second to last, they will place a lien on the property until the loan is paid off. I know, it’s a little frightening to think about, but here is the good news; the lien stays with the property. If you choose to sell the home, the lien won’t follow you anywhere, it stays right there with that property.
Lastly, since this is through the county, they do require testing and permitting. This is probably the scariest part of it all! However, at AAA Energy Systems, we handle all of that for you, so you don’t have to worry about it.
We also have our financing team to answer any questions you may have to the best of their ability!
Our final financing option is actually four more! We are associated with a financial hub called GoGreen:
Much like GreenSky, they are a service that helps the homeowner connect with multiple financing institutes, the only difference is - this particular program is also for energy efficient upgrades for homeowners across California.
They offer special financing options with very low APR’s and up to 15-year terms.
AAA Energy Systems works directly with GoGreen to ensure that the loan and job process goes as smoothly as possible. Much like SCEIP, they do require testing and permits, but again, we handle all of that for you!

Now that you have an idea of all that our company has to offer, how do you choose the right financing option for you? To narrow it down, try asking yourself a couple of questions:
1. Am I a homeowner in Sonoma County?
A. If yes, SCEIP is a great option!
B. If not, unfortunately, SCEIP is not available for homeowners outside of Sonoma County, but GoGreen, GreenSky & Wells Fargo/Bryant credit card offers funding for all over California!
2. Is the project we want to finance considered an energy-efficient upgrade?
Think electric heat pump system, mini-split system, new duct work, attic fan, zone system, air purifier, ERV, 90% or higher efficiency furnace, whole house fan & more depending on the lender.
A. SCEIP and GoGreen are special lending options for homeowners specifically looking for energy-efficient upgrades.
3. Is the project we want to finance not considered an energy-efficient upgrade?
A. GreenSky and Wells Fargo/Bryant credit card still offer great rates and terms for any and all projects – regardless of the energy efficiency!
4. Do I want a monthly payment or do I want my payments to be incorporated into my property tax bill?
A. This option is only made available to eligible SCEIP participants
While our financing department can help you with any questions you may have, we still strongly encourage our customers to do their own research!

Meet Joaquin Romero, our Estimator, Project Manager, Head Service Technician and the guy we affectionately call “Mr. Do It All!” Joaquin joined the AAA Energy Systems family in 2000, just 19 years old. Starting as an apprentice installer, he was eager to learn, and quickly made his mark, working closely with Justin Lewis, our Head Estimator and President. Together, they’ve built long-lasting relationships with clients and partners, ensuring the company's continued success.
Joaquin truly does it all! Whether he’s answering questions for the office team, estimating projects, meeting with clients, or jumping into the shop to work with sheet metal, his dedication and tireless work ethic shine through. He’s the guy we can always count on to get things done, no matter the challenge.
But when the workday ends, Joaquin’s heart belongs to his family. He loves them dearly and makes sure to prioritize spending quality time with them. When he’s not with us, you can find him out on the golf course, enjoying a relaxing ride on his motorcycle, or simply soaking up family time—his true passion outside of work.

The Volleyball SUPER DUO: Paityn and Devyn Gray!
Sadie, Curt and LJ's daughter, has always emphasized the importance of her daughters, Paityn and Devyn, being part of something bigger than themselves. Starting in junior high, Sadie required both girls to participate in a sport or an extracurricular activity like band, dance, or debate club. The goal was to teach them the value of teamwork, setting goals, and working with peers.
Paityn discovered her love for volleyball at 11 and, after a strong seventh-grade season, joined a club team with the help of a bake sale she and her mom organized. When the pandemic hit, she transitioned to beach volleyball with Aloha Beach Volleyball, which sharpened her skills. As a freshman, she made the JV team despite heavy competition.
Devyn was initially hesitant about volleyball, afraid of making mistakes in front of others. But after her mom encouraged her to try Aloha Beach Volleyball, she quickly fell in love with the sport. By age 12, Devyn made the top 14-1 indoor team and, as a freshman, achieved her dream of making the Varsity team alongside Paityn.
Both girls are excelling, ranking in the top 10 defensive specialists in the Redwood League—Paityn at #8 and Devyn at #10. In the Northern California Division 2 League, Devyn ranks #31 with 102 digs, while Paityn is #32 with 100 digs.
Midway through their season, the sisters are thriving in both sports and academics, maintaining straight A’s on the honor roll. Paityn plans to study kinesiology and sports medicine, while Devyn dreams of playing college volleyball.
